CCCM Product Features

  • CCCM Product is developed for process studies (i.e. not for climate studies such as deriving a trend).
  • CERES footprints (Aqua FM3) collocated with the CALIPSO and CloudSat ground track and only footprints contain the ground track are included.
  • CALIPSO, CloudSat, and MODIS derived cloud and aerosol properties are provided using a CERES footprint (~20 km) as a grid box.
  • One file contains one day of data.
  • Can be used to study cloud overlap and aerosol layer vertical location relative to cloud layers.
  • CERES derived Top-of-Atmosphere (TOA) radiative flux and modeled radiative flux profiles with a high vertical resolution are provided to study raditive effects of cloud and aerosols.
  • MODIS derived cloud and aerosol properties both over the 1 km wide CALIPSO and CloudSat ground track and over the entire CERES footprint are provided.
  • MODIS derived cloud properties by an enhanced algorithm using CALIPSO and CloudSat derived cloud mask are provided.
